My eyes weld up when I hear the talent of yesterday and how mainstream music has become less of an artform and more of a sideshow to make a quick buck. Name one mainstream artist that can sing like this?! Remember, I said MAINSTREAM.

Billie when she was at her best, simple and soulful. The recording itself was poor and she didn't have ideal accompaniment, except for Sonny White on the piano, with an excellent interpretation of the Kern classic. Still, the rawness of the recording itself is charming. This is my favorite of all of her recordings, which is why I looked for it here.
