Franco recorded this after his younger and only brother Bavon Marie-Marie had died in a car crash near Bandalungwa. Vocals: Youlou Mabiala and Franco.

  • I did not say Franco composed it, the name between brackets is the composer and Bavon did record it with Negro Succes, indeed. It's on the very album you see in the clip (African 360.023, 1970). It's Léon Bholen BOMBOLO, typography as on the sleeve, by the way. The three pics under him carry the names Alphonso, Samy and Gaspy. You wouldn't happen to know more about those, would you?

  • Sooooo good!

  • reminds of good times with my dad.any other records BMM?my thinking suggests of turf wars in music world had a hand in the death.

  • Youlou's voice will always beat the rest. Wuuuuuuuuuu th breeze jst passes over.

  • The man I am nicknamed after because my early style was heavily influenced by his playing. Always missed but always thjere in the music...

  • bobongisa cimitiere naye...ekufa....kabila..est contre..cultur congolaise

  • oui

  • à mon oncle louison choda toujours à ndjili Q9 ton neveu te dedie cette belle melodie de bavon.

  • What actually would have been the competition like between Bavon and Luambo if Bavon had not died?

  • Bavon and Franco sibling rivalry played out in public especially in the music industry. Had Bavon lived long enough who knows what could have happened between them musically. Fate has its own way of sorting things out.
