Loving - Opening (1991)

The third opening sequence from the late ABC soap Loving. This "new age" sequence is the contender for the title of shortest-lived soap opening ever, as it only ran from February 4, 1991 until February 13, 1992. The was due to the show's constant turnover in executive producers, who made many changes in the later years to valiantly pull Loving up from last place in the daytime ratings.

Did you read the description? This was taped in June of '91 (although the opening did made its debut on February 4th of that year).

This was indeed a short-lived theme/main-title sequence, but not *the* shortest. That "honor" belongs to the GL 50th anniversary sequence, which ran from Monday, June 24, 2002 to Friday, February 21, 2003.

LOL, don't be silly. It couldn't be a Johnny Mathis song without him singing. His theme accompanied that pastel/charcoal "flying painting" visuals. His was the second Loving theme/visual package that ran from March 1989 to Fenruary 1991. I'm still trying to get someone to post that..hopefully soon!

@themirrorsofmymind Where I was from, by this time Loving didn't even air on our ABC affiliate at 12:30, that time slot was given to Rush Limbaugh's afternoon talk show!

@thirtymphs Both intro's look more like commercials than something that signals the start of a TV show. If one had started to channel surf and came across either one, they could keep right on 'clicking'. (This one is like a perfume commercial, or something.) It's like an invitation to change the channel rather than an enticement to "stay tuned". But this one was romantic, at least. One Life's sheets were terrible!

@themirrorsofmymind If I remember correctly that was where they got the idea for OLTL's 1992 opening. The Loving and OLTL openings overlapped for about two months in early 1992 before Loving got their last titles!
