Chain Reactions (Heat)

This is a kinetic sculpture exploring the concept of the senses as chain reactions. It is one of five sculptures i have made, each representing a sense, this one is Heat. I plan to have eight sculptures overall, sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing, balance, pain, and heat. The heat chain reaction begins with a candle burning through a piece of string, this triggers a sequence of reactions which comes full circle and extinguishes the candle.
