"Might makes right" as they say; and as we are the hegemon, we decide who the bad guys and the good guys are. In sum, those precious sanctions that we purport to use in efforts to champion human rights, freedom, and common decency are simply political weapons often as deadly as any Patriot Missile or M-16.

@theurbansurvivalist1 Bout sells to governments and groups subject to embargoes of one form or the other. There are arms dealers all over the world but he specialized in selling arms to those kinds of governments and groups which is why he got into trouble.

This whole episode is such a joke. The United States government deals more arms in a week than Viktor Bout deals in a year. In fact, The U.S. customarily funds, bolsters in one way or another, and arms insane, tyrannical despots to suit its purposes. We haven't pursued Bout on any moral grounds; we simply don't want anyone screwing up our game.
