Officer Fausto Lopez, 35, was taken into custody on the morning of Oct. 11 as he was driving south on the Florida Turnpike near Hollywood Boulevard in Broward County at around 120 mph, according to the FHP.

In the FHP video, the marked Miami Police car, allegedly driven by Lopez, is seen weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds as FHP Trooper D.J. Watts gives chase with lights and sirens blaring.

It takes nearly seven minutes before the car finally pulls into the median and stops.

That's when the female FHP trooper comes out with her gun drawn and barking orders at Lopez.

"Put your hands out that window right now! Put your hands out the window! I'm serious," Watts yells. "Get out, get out of the vehicle! Turn around, turn around, right now!"

The trooper pushes Lopez up against his car and handcuffs him behind his back, and Lopez begins pleading with her to try to get out of trouble.

"Ma'am, I apologize, I was on my way to an off-duty...I'm late for work," says Lopez, who is still wearing his uniform. "I didn't know you were stopping me, officer."

"What? You're over 120 miles per hour!" Watts replies.

"I never saw you," Lopez says.

"How do you not see a car with blue lights in the dark?" Watts asks.

"Ma'am, with all due respect, I don't..." Lopez begins.

"You don't respect me sir, you don't respect these people out here," the trooper says.

  • @Razor1184 ,this is why most hate cops these days, when people hate cops they do bad things to cops! This cop put many in danger by his actions,i hope he lost his job and is jailed for 90 days ! You need to lead by example,i think when cops break the law the penlty shound be higher because they took a oath to uphold laws and know better! hope your not a cop ass hole.

  • @Razor1184 Thanks for proving that your police system is corrupt. It's ok, I have your address, may you and your family sleep well tonight, for it will be your last =)

  • @ejf2461 You're mad because she did her job? No wonder the usa is in the shitter, it's because people like you make up the population.

  • THANK YOU to the female state trooper ! There are way to many cops out there who think they are GOD . It really makes me proud that the female took control . He put alot of people in danger going that fast with no lights on . I would really like to go up to her and say Thank you for understanding right from wrong . Then I would like to go up to him , and ask him how it felt to be treated like a bitch by one hell of a fine bitch ( of the Law) ? ...

  • he could have been on his way to stop a reggin from commitin a ruthless unspeakable crime against a helpless woman or child, good for him.

  • it took him forever to catch up i would of got off on one of the off ramps

  • i bet when the trooper gave a description of the car the dispatcher said what the fuck

  • whatever i would of been like fuck off bitch.

  • It's horrible to see something like this, an officer of the law who had worked his ass off just so he can throw it away by abusing his privilege to use a patrol car. I would have had him suspended from duty, not fired. And after his suspension, he would not be aloud in the driver seat for at least 6 months. And for at least three of those six months, he has to use a fucking bike. Try to pull someone over now shithead.

  • @thetrackstick Most officers are trained to be able to estimate a speed based on surrounding vehicles, just their word of how fast a suspect was going can even hold up in court, radar is just an additional source for confirmation.

  • To recap: I think the Miami cop was in the wrong by going so fast, say 95 MPH when HE went past her, never 120 MPH, she exaggerated, SHE might have gone up to 110 to catch up and BOTH OF THEM at some point were not using code 3, both were in the wrong there, and the Miami cop should have never abused his power by using a marked Cruiser for personal biz, BUT for her to disregard orders to break pursuit TWICE and then refuse to answer the radio that is also very wrong. He was polite, she wasn't!!!
