Gruntruck's 1991 debut, Inside Yours, sounded more like hard psych-rock with a hint of Grunge rather than being the other way around, as was with most other Grungers at the time. In their next album they would shift more towards straight up metal much like Alice In Chains' Dirt album, with less emphasis on punk rock.

@wolf4241991 check out "Skin Yard". It's this singer (Ben) with Jack Endino (legendary Seattle producer... produced Nirvana's "Bleach"... 'nuff said) on guitar. They are a lot like Soundgarden, but less progressive. Their songs are more basic sounding than Soundgarden, but they seriously rock! You won't be disappointed, trust. If you can get their CD "Fist Sized Chunks" that's my personal favorite of theirs.
