This is an introduction to pouring your own jigheads at home. Please use extreme caution when using lead. Proper ventilation, proper equipment and proper precautions should be taken. Don't pour lead around children or in areas without good airflow. Where protective masks and gloves and clean your areas thoroughly.

  • Jason, do you preheat your mold? I didn't see or hear you mention that in your video.

  • @BassinK9 Yes I do. All I do is open the mold a little and sit it on the top edge of the pot for a few minutes. It warms the mold up nicely. You can buy smoke spray in a can now too that will "smoke" the mold for you and make the lead release a little easier for you. I've never really had a problem as long as the mold is warm.

  • for the 3/8 ounce you said u used a mustad extra wide gap hook is it made for the molds

  • @VermontFishing101 Yes Mustad makes a wide gap that fits that mold.

  • do recommend using the Jig Weedguard Base Hole pins instead of putting the weedguard in the mold????

  • @VermontFishing101 Yes I always use base hole pins for weedless jigs. For shaky heads I just put the spring in and it comes out of the mold ready to paint.

  • Where can u get everything from

  • use custom rom and CyanogenMod and you dont need tish shit

  • @Wired2Fish How do you blow the wax out while wearing your super duper safety mask? Can you show us a video for that?

  • Good stuff

  • @VermontFishing101 I always use base hole pins. Because you are afforded a lot more flexibility in your painting. 5 minute waterproof epoxy is fine for placing weedguards after painting and baking. Baking is an essential step in making paint stay on lead heads. With weedguards in place, baking will make them curl. you can use heat resistant tubing but it's just easier to leave the weedguards out. We'll talk more about it in upcoming videos.
