  • There were some really nice throws in there. Does anyone know what the rules for the first match (no gloves) were? Were they not allowed to punch to the head?

  • Chuji Sanda

    The rules are as follows:

    - no fists strikes to the head, only open palms

    - fists strikes to the body are allowed

    - no high kicks, only low (such as gou tui, shi zi tui fu ren jiao and so on)

    - no elbow and knee strikes

    - all kinds of throws are allowed

  • -Great! another crappy chinese slap-boxing clip. Nothing new here.

  • @H2Zman firstly h2zman i would like to declare i dont train or know sanda very well, my base is in muay thai and bjj.

from what i see in Singapore at least, there isnt a central derivative style in sanda.

it looks very similiar to kickboxing or MT tbh.

but some chinese kung fu i find that are very effective in Sanda are wing chun, and maybe hung kar

  • @jeffchen So my teacher tells us we're learning San Da without specifying a style. Is there some sort of central style to San Da, or kung fu in general? Just sometimes it's hard to tell exactly what I'm learning from him.

  • actually in mandarin sanda just means free fight. as in a fight devoid of the traditional forms or tao quan.

so in this case they are doing a free fight using mantis style.

    hence tanglang sanda.

    hope this helps

  • @johnnylynnlee As true as that may be,they are out there doing it while other armchair kung fu fighters talk down on it.

  • this isnt sanda and this isnt traditional kung fu. its just a shit. its hve nothing to do with real mantis fight! what fuckin´hell is it? i have seen street fights bett than this...

  • LOL!! sanda mentis?? hmm but the rulez look like sanda.

  • awesome showcase of different styles of chinese kung fu

  • whta tha fuck, man.? this is not sanda!
