swamimams- Because of that terrible mistake in 1953, its very easy to blame it on the British- if something goes wrong we are an easy way to take attention off the Iranian elite. Most Iranians weren't even born at that time. It is very unlikely we would make the same mistake again, certainly not in Iran. The hundreds of thousands protesting against Ahmadinejad- do you really think they are some sort of western puppets. As for the BNP- ? They are a very small party so that has no relevance.

I dont think its hundreds of thousands protesting. There were many more who voted for Ahmadinejad who werent on the streets but in more rural parts of the country. Those demonstrating are supporters of the shah and against islamic values because they want another shah that forces western ideals among muslims. Muslims have lost almost every country to dictators but we are still strong and growing. I dont agree with the worshiping practices of the shia of iran but they are holding strong.

swamimans- supporters of the Shah- I saw a number of them making it clear they support the Islamic Revolutio and if they don't who could blame them. This is a despotic regime that regularly brainwashes poor and uneducted Iranians in vitriol against the west. It is a regime that executes minors and homosexuals on dubious charges, it is a regime that regularly threatens the existence of Israel. As for Islamic 'virtues' Iran's human rights record is a testiment to that.
