Tension runs high between Kate and Uncle Joe in this episode of Petticoat Junction, "A Night At the Hooterville Hilton." Uncle Joe dreams up a promotional brochure of a five star version of the Shady Rest Hotel and has a few copies printed. The brochure depicts tennis courts, a swimming pool, bowling alley, indoor ice skating rink and steam rooms.

Problems begin when the printer accidentally sends out copies to the hotel's regular mailing list. Included on that list is Mrs. Gladys Stroud, a hotel critic known for her harsh reviews. Of course, telling the truth is Uncle Joe's last resort and he dreams up a scheme to trick Mrs. Stroud.

The original air date of this episode was December 17, 1963.

Featured are:
Bea Benaderet as Kate Bradley
Edgar Buchanan as Uncle Joe Carson
Elvia Allman as Mrs. Gladys Stroud

  • Why was the Beverly Hillbillies theme song playing at the beggining?

  • This summer I rode in one of these old steam trains...nice experience except for the smoke from the engine in the carriages we were riding in.
