So do you by the sounds of your pathetic comment! This cat was worshipped as a god by the ancient egyptians also, it's not the maus fault that the modern egyptians of today do not recognize its worth!

Mau's will do anything for you if a treat is involved. Any breed of domestic cat can be taught tricks with the right amount of patience, and rewards. Cats aren't as eager to please humans as dogs, however, and they are usually more into what they get out of it. Isn't it cool though, how tolerant Maus are? I can drag my Mau mix around in his tunnel forever, and he loves it! He's still young, only a year old, so we're still working on the trick thing...

People asking if this cat is a Mau. I would like to inform viewers that to keep blood lines strong purebred cats are bread with cats from more diverse backgrounds (mainly domestic short hair), if breeders were to keep using cats from the same gene pool there is a higher chance of genetic health problems. In a lot of cases kittens from a pure bread / Domestic pairing will be either or, and most commonly a mix of the two parents. this case seems to be Mau silver with a Domestic frame

Egyptian Maus are extremely intelligent cats. My cat is half short-haired mau and a shirazi (long haired mau) and almost got me in trouble when I walked him at the park. sheesh, he sped to the bushes and it's a good thing he was little. I walk him around and he loves to walk at petsmart

Hi, I have 2 Mau's and they are well known for being "cat-dogs". In other words they are highly intelligent and often have more dog like behaviour, ie. fetching, doing tricks, obedience and loyalty. They are great Cats who respond well and learn quickly. We are constantly finding out new things about our 2 every week! They even have a good vocabulary, all different meows and chirrups for many different meanings. They are very loving and basically these cats rewrite the books concerning cats as

Mine is not a lap cat either. He went through an affectionate phase, where he would sit on your lap in the bathroom, lol, but that stopped a long time ago. He also gets upset when I take a shower, and follows me everywhere I go. If I am using the computer, he's sleeping on the desk. If I am in my bedroom, he's in there too. If I am eating, he wants what I have. All day, every day. :D

lol, yes, Christmas is really a Mau. Look at some of the other video's, or lots of pictures of him, this screename on myspace. So many of his spots run so close together, they look like stripes. Look at his myspace photo's.
Peace!

Do all Egyptian Maus's do that or is yours well trained or extra intelligent?

I'm not sure if they all do or not. But Christmas has seriously acted and played and answered to us like a dog since we got him at 4 months. He has these tricks mastered now so hopefully i'll update the video soon. He also is addicted to fetching and returning his toys like a dog.
