cutco

@trex250 Agreed, cutco sucks. Okay, maybe they are better than Walmart knives, but that doesn't say a whole lot. As for me, I love my Shun Elite (which is overpriced IMO, but still kicks ass). Look into Blue or White steel japanese knives, if you don't mind taking care of it that is.

man i just bought 3 of the wusthof knives off all4achef website and saved almost 100 dollars.... wusthof and shun are the best for sure! im just waiting on that website to start carrying shun as well bc they have the best deals.... hope this helps a bit

I bought a full set of Classic Wusthof from Cutlery+More, and I could not be happier with them. They work absolutely fantasic. Maybe a little too good. One took the very tip of my finger off while chopping up an onion. But that was my fault. haha. Wusthof is the Mercedes of knives. There is nothing better.

@mingalabaa If you have the receipt, I would send in a photocopy. And if the receipt doesn't have the name of the "line" - then take a picture of the cleaver before you send it in for repair. Supposedly you don't ned the receipt, because they have a "lifetime" guarantee. In my case, I sent in a top-of-the-line chef's knife and they replaced it with a low-end knife.

You can also use a hacksaw on proteins and vegetables, since the double D edge is so much the same. Cheap German knives? I think not I own a full set of Wusthof knives and select Shun knives. Just because its made in America doesn't make it the best. Also Cutco likes to scam its clientele ;)
-
My guess is that the Germans would pronounce with a "v" sound but Americans with a "W" sound.

I HAVE A Wusthof CLEAVER. Less than a year old and not use much yet. When sending in, you don' need to show the reciept, right?
-
Cutco is not Stamped, Watch the discovery channel and they will show you that each knife is hand made and takes 2 weeks for each knife to be fully finished. Cutco also has a forever guarantee on each knife, what does wusthof have on that? Also Cutco is
American made which benefits us more than buying some cheap german made brand
I'm sure Mr. Wusthof totally appreciates the lesson on how to say his own name.

Cutco? They do not get any cheaper and the price is a total rip-off. Stamped knives versus forged the Wusthof will cut circles around Cutco. In my opinion I like the Shun knives and the Wusthof but I would never buy a Cutco.
