I guess you haven't seen the video of the male leopard standing up to 4 lionesses (actually ripping a lioness's lip open as she tried to go for his throat) and the video of the tiger trying to kill the leopard but giving up after a short skirmish. They're right here on YouTube.

supernover8781: leopards DO NOT have the strongest bite out of the big cats, that
title belongs to the Jaguar. they unlike the other big cats do not bite the throat and strangle they bite their victim in the head and crush/puncture it's skull.

hyenas dont fight lions. The only encounters are hyena packs upon lionesses after theyve eaten

A leopard weighs no more than a large dog. about 135 pounds on average. some as low as 70 lbs. The all time record is about 200. No chance against the larger predators.

legman36 : this is leopard that is small dude cuz male leopard are generally little bigger than female Hyena.

@ThaOneChrisJONES Yes that is true, but leopards are selective. when they have a target they chase the same target down, until the prey either gets away or in the leopards grasp. Hyenas change targets. They either go for one kill, but when it gets away they go for another, building down to the weakest of the herd.

@supernover8781 Ok, well I don't know about all of Africa. But they scavenge more than Hyenas do. And btw, about Hyenas hunting sick and weak animals..... that's more or less what all predators do.
-
@ThaOneChrisJONES im sorry, i dont believe lions scavenge more then any other african animal (keeping in mind that the male lion protects the pride, females do the hunting).

@supernover8781 1. I've seen a single Hyena push a Leopard off MANY times. 2. Lions scavenge more then Hyenas do ( actually more than any other predator in Africa ) including from your precious Leopards. You should actually have respect for the Hyenas because they are the only ones out there keeping the Lions in check lol.
a leopard is a solitary animal, the hyena has his clan.
So, for the hyena a injurie is not a big deal as it is for the leopard.
In a death fight, the leopard would win.

As I said elsewhere, leopards choose their fights carefully, and this prooves it! If the leopard was so confident then why didn't he press the attack? Answer: because THIS hyena was LARGE and probably would have inflicted serious injuries if attacked. The hyena that was killed in another clip on YouTube was much smaller. You can easily see the difference in size. Leopards are formidable predators, but so are hyenas, who have jaws strong enough to pulverize elephant bones.
