  • I don't understand what is going on with YT, I don't see my last publications with my e-mail adress. Maybe it is forbidden to publish it, but I don't understand why it would be so...

  • @MickeyZeVrai, you can send it to sonnabend(at)web(dot)de

  • @MickeyZeVrai, i sent you a mail, but "message could not be delivered to recipient". please mail me. Regards Thomas

  • Vielen Dank, great piece, one of his best. .

  • Thank you very much for posting this music. Zimmermann is one of my favourite composers of the twentieth century. I love "Die soldaten". First time I listen to this extraordinary music.

  • Not sure that he quotes Saint-Augustin... He quotes Wittgenstein analyzing Saint-Augustin's texts... but you catch the idea!

  • @Daniel22765 You have to thank Sonnabend who has published it.

And yes, Zimmermann was a religious believer. The major part of his music deals with faith and despair relative to inequity; quoting Saint-Augustin, Bach, "L'eccclésiaste" from the Bible (AT) and a lot of others sources... The best to do is to listen to "Die Soldaten" (Gielen CD, Haenchen Radio4 netherlands), "Requiem for a young poet" (whatever the version: Gielen, Kontarsky or Wergo CD) and "L'action ecclésiastique" by Holliger.

  • @MickeyZeVrai Vielen Dank für die schöne Musik. War Zimmermann ein religiöser Mensch?

  • Eternal music, beautiful...many thanks!!!

  • @S0NNABEND Did you receive my two mails?
