Genetic engineering: The world's greatest scam?

Genetic engineering is a threat to food security, especially in a changing climate. The introduction of genetically manipulated organisms by choice or by accident grossly undermines sustainable agriculture and in so doing, severely limits the choice of food we can eat.

Once GE plants are released into the environment, they are out of control. If anything goes wrong - they are impossible to recall.

GE contamination threatens biodiversity respected as the global heritage of humankind, and one of our world's fundamental keys to survival.

Corn can produced its own pesticide? Yummy! I have a free-market solution. Labeling and let the consumer deside. But those same conservatives who claim to be for the "free market" are actually against that because they know GM will loose in the market place. The FDA even stops organic foods from labeling that they're GM free. I know that I won't be feeding my soon-to-be daughter GM foods.

@crazyspacechick Maybe you should "Research both sides before you decide." You made a lot of claims without any evidence to back them up. I provided several studies just now in response to your comments and I posted many more throughout the comments for this video. If you would like more studies, I can provide them as well. Several of the possibilities mentioned in this video have now occurred, such as resistant pests, weeds, etc., that isn't a fear, it is a reality.

@Nyocurio Ya and many of those plants, we probably aren't eating or we've found a way to get around their protection. In some cases we've even learned to get a trip or high out them. We don't know the long term effects of these GMOs. The FDA approved these GMOs based solely on Monsanto's manipulated data. Monsanto owns Obama & the FDA. Those plant's metabalism are product of thousands of years of evolution and our bodies are adapted to them and their long term side effects.

@JtotheV92 You feel sorry for her that she won't be a lab rat GMOs? She'll eat wholesome foods that are free of processed chemicals and are the way nature intended them.

Monsanto cheats and lies and won't follow the same laws we all must follow so I guess they are criminals.

@reggieharris20 That is because Greenpeace is not against genetic engineering in general. They are against usng GE crops outdoors where they can contaminate non-GE crops. They are against GE crops that are herbicide tolerant and produce pesticides which contribute to resistant pests and weeds, harm non-target organisms and contaminate groundwater. They are also against false statements made by biotech companies and are for thorough health tests(all mentioned in this video).

@JtotheV92 I provided evidence from dozens of studies from peer reviewed journals, not from youtube. Where on the internet do you want me to look for "evidence" that Bt crop resistant pests, and glyphosate resistant weeds, etc. hasn't occurred? Recent peer reviewed journals say Bt crop resistant pests, and glyphosate resistant weeds, etc. have occurred. "Evidence" is not an uninformed/misinformed internet user's comment(like yours), so get your evidence from peer reviewed journals.

Did anyone else note that he mainly argued against pesticides and food distribution. No direct arguments against genetic engineering. The only point he made against ge is that they use pesticides.
