The End of the American Dream - Religious Fanaticism

The USA is transforming from a secular democracy into a Christian fundamentalist state. On the surface the demagogues of this development use all the trappings of religion, but at the heart of their doctrines lie the core tenets of fascism. Working hand in hand with the false religious prophets are the big corporations, especially the arms industry, who now control American politics. To discuss this political trend Amy Goodman of DemocracyNow! talks to Chris Hedges (formerly of the New York Times) about his new book "American Fascists".

Fundamental Christians follow the Jesus of the bible. The Jesus of the bible doesn't only teach forgiveness and to love your neighbor, he also teaches to hate your family and to leave them. He tells you to hate the world and what's in it. He also condemns you to the outer darkness for not believing in him.

This is the problem. People pick and choose what part of the gospels they want to follow. The whole think should be recognized as nothing more that myth and not truth.

@SunnyLovetts - DEAR SONNY: Religious fanatics from ANY religion actually drive people away from the House of God. Those people are on first-name terms with God, or have a Messiah complex, and this is why they detest people who do not follow THEIR way home to God. ALL religions lead people home. We will, one hopes, go to the Light, meet Jesus/Whoever and our loved ones. God willing, we will. People of ALL religions have started war which, incidentally, comes from SATAN, NOT GOD!!!!!
