  • okay, WHO'S FLAGGING?

  • Effects guy has the "cutest" sad pout.

  • America's test kitchen did a taste test of pureed fresh pumpkin and canned pumpkin. Nobody could tell the difference. Save the fresh pumpkin for soup or roasting if you don't want to go through all this. Still love Alton though.

  • @Morna777 i think it really depends on preference.

  • lol. red paint and squid meat for the win.

  • @khesed I know! So cute! Lol, I feel so sad for him.

  • Now... has anyone actually taken the time to write all of this out so I can use the recipe?

  • How can I tell if my pumpkin is the correct type to bake?

  • 5:42- sad pumpkin scrap push off the knife. Adorable.

  • If you can find Fairy Tale pumpkins around this time of year it's worth picking one up and following Alton's method and freezing it. I don't know anyone who doesn't like the Fairy Tale more than the regular pie pumpkin when tried back to back.

  • Morna777 should try doing a little research before speaking about the contents of a can of pumpkin puree. Please enlighten me as to the value of adding hormones to pumpkin?!?! Libby's pumpkin puree (a thanksgiving standard), ingredients: pumpkin. Trader Joe's Canned pumpkin puree, ingredients: pumpkin. The only thing that can change the flavor between fresh and canned is time and heat. Both are good.

  • Mmmm pumpkin pie. Aw man, now I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

  • Canned pumpkin puree wouldn't have the exact same taste as fresh puree since the canned version has A LOT of preservatives and hormones, plus it isn't as healthy either. @morna777
