Maybe
One Day, We'll Have Super Efficient Cars
and Free Electricity and Houses on Mars
Maybe
One Day Our Bodies Will be Jacked
Augmented with Drugs and Perfect, In Fact
We'll Have Robots as Slaves
and Computers Quite Small
We'll need no more Graves
We'll manipulate it all
Maybe
One Day, We'll Leave Planet Earth
We'll be born in a Lab,
eliminating childbirth
Our Past will seem Drab
Populated by fools
Using and Manipulating Cast Iron Tools
Our Days Will be Bright, Our Power and Might
Equaled by none, Our time in the Sun
Maybe
One Day, We'll Leave our Bodies Behind
When an artificial consiousness we Do Find
We'll Live in the Light, We'll Know True Communion
Our Bodies Entangled in a Silicon Union
The'll be no more fear or pesky emotion
Just power and knowledge and logical notions
Maybe
It's Our Destiny to Try to Leave Earth
and forfeit the things that we have had since our Birth
Maybe
Like Icarus We'll Fly into the Sun
and we Won't Stop though we know we ain't won
Maybe
It'll happen and it can't be stopped
Someone will try to claw to the top
Maybe
It seems kinda gnarly and cool
But at the price of our living
and our world that has given
Everything to us, All that We Need
And to Throw it Away, To fill up our Greed
It seems really stupid, foolish in fact
It's easy to see it's time to change tracks.

very nice Oz, have you ever done or considered doing poetry readings in coffee shops and book stores?

Thnx, Jane. I am working on my poetry and stories right now. Thanks for the encouragement, though, maybe I will soon look more into this.
