The original (untouched) trilogy is just SOOO much better than the 'new films' in the 'series'...it's like Lucas forgot how to create CHARACTERS we give a shit about, likable, interesting heroes and villians that were fun to hiss at...hell, I can't even NAME more than one or two characters from the recent films, they are THAT forgetable...
Yeah I totally agree. Computer animated SFX seem out of place when they are a little too sharp and crisp, considering real objects are usually a little more blurry.
The effects in this film were just perfect. They didn't stick out or catch the eye, which is the definition of good fx.
I love this scene, mainly because of the sounds the TIE fighters make, how the 2nd one makes that rotating noise when it's wing is hit and I also like how the last 2 TIE's had different kinds of lasers so they sounded different, really cool :)
I heard George Lucas made reshoot that scene so many times that one of the crew who got annoyed threw his shoe in the asteroid field, so one of asteroids supposedly look like a shoe. LOL. It's just a rumor I heard though ;)
"BRING ME THE HYDROSPANNER" I love that part, I've often wondered since it was shot in the UK and 'Spanner' is what the british call a wrench that Harrison Ford didn't ad lib that line from hearing the British lighting and tech guys using the phrase..?
Me too... especially the asteroid field looks very nice. The effects of the original trilogy are bettes than the computer generated effects of some modern movies!
