In successful bonsai tree growing, your recall of some age-old mantras like you will reap what you have sown, and the fruit never falls far from the tree can help you a lot. It simply means that if you get your seeds from a good source, more likely you grow strong bonsai trees and it is success halfway won for your new hobby or business.

@skippydeenice That is bullshit. Field grown trees can be quite impressive after 10 years.

Anyone starting out in bonsai should do themselves a favor & learn more before expecting trees like the impressive ones in the video. Even for the tiniest mame or shohin, it can take much longer than most begginers' patience.

@Bankaiuser233 -The plants at 1:00 appear to be boxwood, probablly 'Kingswood', an exceptionally small and slow growing variety. Re other comments on this video, I don't know why wnyone would wqnt to grow bonsai from seed, even for tiny mame. Maybe a few on the side, but most beginners (target audience of this video) will learn little and be BORED right out of the hobby if they start out that way.

Most of the trees in the pictures you have used are yamadori from the wild. But you only mentioned growing from seed? please explain.

@skippydeenice
This is an utter fallacy. Starting from seed is a viable method for creating wonderful bonsai - provided you're doing mame or shohin (miniature) bonsai, and not expecting a 8" nebari on a 18" tall juniper.
