I admire Psy (no homo). I like his music and style, because it is different than other Kpop. He is making a name for himself and not just a 'product'. A lot of Kpop is manufactured, the record labels are essentially corporations and talent agencies really. And some of the more popular kpop labels take in the singers when they are 8 or 9 and train them and stuff. That seems a little inhumane to me. Anyways, Go PSY! breaking the normal tradition of kpop. psy is self-made.

Hi Laxjoh and Tatayana -- I'm a radio host as well --- we use [what we call them in radio] 'Headsets, Cans, Headphones, or in Ryan's case, and I every so often 'earbuds'. Not so we can hear ourselves in a better quality. The MAIN reason --Once the mic is 'ON' --- The external studio speakers automatically go on 'mute'. We would not be able to hear the music we're playing on air, or fans when they call in to talk with us, or a guest in the studio. Hope I answered your curiosity. xo

I think the earphones are so that they can hear each other and themselves in a better quality. Since all the equipment is majorly fixed so that the audience can hear it, it could cause some disturbance in the studio room. Also, producers and such might want to say something to them to talk about a topic or avoid a topic.
