Smiles and Tears (EarthBound/Mother 2) [Super Nintendo]

There are a number of unused tracks listed, but not accessible, within the code for Super Smash Bros Brawl. This series of videos is meant to illustrate what these tracks may have been like if they were usable in the game. All tracks are taken from the album compiled and edited by EditorArtist. Note that these are at best guesses as to what the songs would've actually sounded like if they were in the game. Since it is not possible to hear them, the song selections are only educated guesses based on the filenames.

Oh geez, I was 8 years old when I first heard this song. I'm 21 now, and hearing it to this day, makes me long for the days of old.  This wasn't just a song in a game, this was a song that spoke to us, about our childhood. Itoi, you're a genius. You didn't just create us a game, you created us an everlasting memory.

It makes me wanna go in a brand new adventure, meet friends, and become a hero...I'm sure this was Itoi's intention...to make kids grow up to strive for adventure, so that they can learn... lol, i'm 13, and i still wonder if this would ever happen... @EJP202 I feel the same. I'm 15, and I still want to go on an "adventure". xD I think Itoi wanted to show that there is an adventure out there for everyone, you just need to find it, which is an adventure within itself!

smiles and tears should be used for the final fight between lucas and claus in mother 3 because of clause's smile and Lucas's hidden tears

@mdalsted As I mentioned in my comment, there were severe legal issues. Since EarthBound's release, companies have gotten much sue-happier than ever. Due to this, NoA can't rerelease the game.

@Kirby4030 You probably won't even remember making that comment after a year, but will you fucking get off that horse? Reggie does not hate Mother fans. Reggie has no choice on whether or not the games get released outside of Japan. NoA TRIED to have EarthBound rereleased, along with the other games, but they had severe legal issues, along with Nintendo's Department of Business feeling that the series was simply too risky.
