"Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" on May 20 will go ahead

The cartoonist who originated the idea of "Everybody Draw Muhammad Day" has opted out but that doesn't mean the event is cancelled.

So, if you want to draw a picture of Muhammad on May 20, do it. If you want to upload your picture to your own site or YouTube or Facebook or whatever, do it.

If you want to send the picture to me, I'll put it on a web site or in a YouTube video or something like that. I've set up an email address specifically for this purpose: edmd2010@gmail.com

The music was recorded for this video. It's just me messing around a little with a guitar and a multi-track recording program.

@pancakesandtea Oh, I'm quite happy. I just find it very troubling when some people use threats of violence and death to try to control how other people express themselves. Muslims who don't care about me or people like me have no reason to pay attention to me, much less to be offended by what I say. However, the minority of Muslims who threaten harm against others merely for making silly drawings deserve to be offended.

@pancakesandtea [shrug] I have also made videos in which I criticize and mock Christianity. I have no respect for any religion and my heart is just fine with that. All religion is foolish at best and evil at worst. You don't need religion; religion needs you like a parasite needs a host.

Besides, my videos have descriptive titles, meaning that anyone who views them knows what to expect and, so, if they are offended, it is by their own choice. Nobody made you look.

Faith is belief without evidence or even in spite of the available evidence. Therefore, faith is not to be respected but, rather, is properly an object of ridicule and contempt.

@Birdgull1 The new Islamic version of history says that Jesus was a muslim and that Jews never lived in Israel. It says that Jesus was born in Palestine. This is what muslims are being taught in schools right now.

i have no problem with muslims, but some people like the south park guys take their religion to seriously. A lot of radical (not all) muslims will bully me around for being jewish, threaten people for not beliving in Allah, or freaking kill someone because of it ( ive seen it). The point is, i belive in god (i saw an angel when i was 7 and i survived a near death thing) but religion causes more deaths then anything. Its great to have a moral code but dont force people to listen, Religion Sucks

@Birdgull1 You are free to express those thoughts and feelings, just as I am free to express my thoughts and feelings about religion. I do not respect any religion. I hold that all religion is evil. All religion is an unnecessary weight around the neck of humanity.

I find it incredibly sad and utterly stupid that anyone would be willing to sacrifice their only life for something so ridiculous as a religion.
