Henry seems ignorant of his countries atrocities.
People don't hate America for their living conditions so his comparisons made no sense at all, they hate America for their Imperialist, Fascist government and the large proportion of ignorant people who support everything their government does in the name of patriotism.

As an American, I don't "love" my country, or any other country. What he's saying here is that we have it very good; everything is cheap, especially gas and food. We have a bad insurance system and a corrupt government, but to blame the government for your problems is one demonstration of his point: "people in power" don't make a populace stupid; politics and business merely exploit all the "nervous people being king of the hill" who let emotions, and external forces run their existence.
