The First Movement of Vivaldi's Four Seasons - Summer (Allegro non molto)

Conducted by: Riccardo Muti

The picture in the video is my closest interpretation of what Vivaldi intended it to be for that specific movement.

  • (Reaction to your description) Yes I think you are really close... Especially that the sun isnt fully out in that picture.. Although the middle reminds me of butterflies or birds... So i would picture a flowerfield before a beach.. But yeah.. Its called an interpretation, so no-one can be right ^^

    Nice quality btw!

  • Thanks :D

That's what I love about music - everyone interprets it differently. I guess that's why music is universal, everyone can find a different meaning in the same song.

  • i like your interpretation

  • thanks :) but wikipedia also deserves some credits :P check the video discription for a link

  • This is a really good version of Four Seasons, but can you reupload this video since the back of it it cut off for reason... i would be appreciated if i can hear the whole thing

  • @DrownedAtLakeBodom what a vulgar comment

  • @iets1243 Whats really funny is that the Four Seasons were an interpretation of a set of Italian poems about the four seasons. I believe the summer one is from the perspective of a shepherd. The summer poem does talk about birds' song. I believe the Four Seasons was 150 years premature.

  • I think summer is the best. Winter is a close second.

  • Beneath the blazing sun's relentless heat

    men and flocks are sweltering,

    pines are scorched.

We hear the cuckoo's voice; then sweet songs of the turtle dove and finch are heard.

Soft breezes stir the air….but threatening north wind sweeps them suddenly aside. The shepherd trembles, fearful of violent storm and what may lie ahead.

  • good

  • Your interpretation is quite nice! :)

  • I always imagined this movement as a brutal, hot setting. Like how sun scorches the desert. And somehow I'm stranded there slowly limping along.

  • in what order does Vivaldi's four seasons go?
