so mutch hard work for nothing, remove the old floor then screed it, if is wooden floor use flex water base screed, prime the old floor before, on concrete floor use normal water base, use the buffer to polish the floor, then glue the floor and lay it

you should of removed the existing vinyl and either sheeted the floor boards out in two layers of 9mm wbp ply with staggered joints,primed and feather finished or used leveller if it was concrete.then buff and used a smaller notched trowel for you adhesive.
the fitting looks good tho!

I don't even know where to start where you are going wrong....
firstly the existing vinyl should be removed in case the foam backing on it causes spring in the plywood floor joints and your feather finish/fillers break up and they start to show up
secondly you didn't prime the ply wood and you didn't completely cover the ply in the feather finish so the ply will de-laminate,... thirdly the notch on you trowel is too large and you risk the notch marks showing in time....litany of errors....

and i hope those are divergent point staples....
id have laid them diagonally with a tramline border 5 inches from the wall and kickerboards.........and used KARNDEAN lol.
