Hey all,
I recently entered a little contest for a Red Cedar Soprano Ukulele from Mainlandukuleles.com while helping out a great organization Called Kiva (Kiva.org) that provides micro-loans to people in 3rd world countries to start small businesses. Mike organized a contest in which a group was created.
Ukulele Players United to Decrease World Suck!
was formed and a prize was offered to one lucky member who made a $25 or more loan. And yes, it is a loan, meaning you will get your money back, it is not a donation, though I intend to keep mine rolling as long as needed. Anyhow, the prize was a top quality All Wood Red cedar Mainland Soprano Ukulele..... Wow.....
Needless to say I won and figured since it was being shipped all the way to China anyways I might as well buy some gear to keep it company. An excellent excuse, I mean reason, to justify spending a little cash not only on people in Peru who needed it, but on myself as well.
The video is in 2 parts. 1st (as always) showing off my nifty new toys (including the teeshirt) and second trying to give viewers an accurate comparison of the difference between Concert and Soprano ukes, as I have been asked about that a lot.
Thanks again to Mike and Mainland ukes! Y'all rock!
And everyone else, check out Ukulele Players United to Decrease World Suck! on Kiva and consider dropping a small loan yourself. My contribution helped a woman in Peru to get a loan with which she can now open her own retail store. Not even 1/2 of what I might have spent on movies or dinner on a typical weekend... Something to consider...
Anyway, I hope ya dig the videos either way!
Thank you so much, finally I got an answer.

Congratulations! Two lovely instruments. Really can't go wrong with a Mainland. Everything I've read says strumming where the neck meets the body is the correct place to strum. Some say the tenor strum spot is closer to the sound hole, but I still tend to strum around the 12th fret.
