OMG OMG OMG !!!!!! Hendrix improvised the staggering wah-wah guitar riff for "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" on the spot. "It was like, 'OK, boys, look like we're recording,' " Hendrix said. "We weren't thinking about what we were playing."
After a night playing in New York , Hendrix, Mitch Mitchell, Stevie Winwood and Jack Casady returned to Electric Ladyland and cut "Voodoo Chile," a fifteen-minute take on Muddy Waters' "Rolling Stone." Later , Hendrix, Mitchell and Noel Redding were being filmed by a TV crew. Hendrix improvised the staggering wah-wah guitar riff for "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" on the spot. "It was like, 'OK, boys, look like we're recording,' " Hendrix said. "We weren't thinking about what we were playing."
srv could not sing Hendrix songs well. Jimi's lyrics were truly transcendent and came from a place within that srv never visited. srv sounds like a parrot. srv is just mouthing the words like an actor reading a script he does not understand. Most of u people don't even know what voodoo is. And if u did u would run like hell to ur Bible. Don't reduce jimi's message to some simple entertainment. srv was not a voodoo chile - jimi was - absolutely and u can here it in his wicked sound he invented.
srv was not able to create anything new in concept. Hendrix's first three LPs were all mind blowing and impacted guitar playing more than anyone could have imagined. He still is king and srv is his student. End of story. Hendrix is a part of history. srv is just "poor man's" Hendrix. Yes - it hurts I know- but his albums just were not that interesting or innovative. That is why srv was depressed. He played flatfooted and never quite understood how to sing blues. His voice was truly annoying .
u don't know waht a groove is. That drummer is just plunking along like he is playing at a square dance. Why do u insult the messenger with ur filthy language. Obviously u r upset about facts that don't lie. Check every guitar player poll - u find Hendrix as #1 because he played the best blues innovations and much much more. Shake yourself . LOL
Ray Vaughan's tone and style make him one of the few artists that can play Hendrix. He adds the component of soul which talks through the music. Some of the artists that play Hendrix are too confined and sound forced.
ROFL...I kind of know you, right? OK, let me finish what I've started: 1) There's a difference between influence and inspiration to pick up the guitar and it doesn't take a genius to realize it; 2) Sadly (as it turns), I've never called a "fool" any YT user nicknamed "MrDutchie69"; not on this page at least; 3) I've got more than enough of you; go find another target or better simply get lost...
so have fun beating off to videos of people playing guitar, wishing that you didn't suck so much dick at life, while i'll go play my 1954 strat....or maybe my telecaster? .....or my schecter hellraiser? my martin? or perhaps my les paul?
