Tutorial: How to Use a VPN With Xbox LIVE (Updated 2011 Version)

In this tutorial, I teach you how to set up a VPN connection for use with Xbox LIVE.

This could be used for many reasons, but mainly the anonymity of a VPN.
When using this VPN, if someone is sniffing your IP, they will see this IP and not know where you are physically located. Some people use DDoS protected VPN's to protect them from being DDoSed off of Xbox LIVE.

Question: What type of VPN should I get?
Answer: Any type, (PPTP, etc.) make sure it has OPEN ports. Or 3074 OPEN.
Others wont work.

I remember people on Live saying it's impossible to connect to a vpn. Depending on vpn it can be kinda shitty though.

@Kazuma331 Yeah, if you have a low bandwidth VPN, you wont have enough to connect to Xbox LIVE.

i have a question if u got banned from xbox can u use a network bridge plus xbox connected with a proxy and get back on i used that to when was banned on pc software but will that work also on xbox just curious not banned

I heve problems, coz my XboX is saying that DNS addresses are wrong.. i've tried Google DNS and a lot of others.. Maybe someone can help me ?

@agusliga Yes, ive done this with one of the black ops map packs (which im guessing is ure situation). Bought the map pack form xbox.com through my vpn (cuz it wouldnt let me initially), then once that was done, it started to download on xbox..it stops at about 99%, then u can do the vpn thing and it DOES work. good luck

@Gennady100 You can do it without wireless, but if you wanted to then yes you'll need two ethernet ports on your computer so you can connect your computer both to the internet and to connect your xbox to the other ethernet port

@aSnakeWithGunz Well...there really aren't many people who can "hack" someone rather the "victim" does something stupid to give away their password for personal information or whatever the "hacker" is attempting to get.
