3rduncle:
When SRV came along, he made clapton look like a little schoolgirl trying to play the blues.

Clapton was a pop hit, never a bluesman. BB King, Buddy Guy, etc., talk about SRV being the real thing. You never hear them say that about Clapton, although they appreciate him helping younger players.

he was a supporter of Enoch Powell's (wiki him)facists in the 70s. Shouting slogans at concerts "Keep Britain White" etc. He's explained that he was fucked up at the time but never apologised. Au contraire, he actually said quite recently that Powell's ideas are being proved correct.

He's a tosser of the highest magnitude. Lives near my mate in Guildford and has a rep for being a cranky old cunt.

And his music is for 45year old accountants with Harleys.

I had no idea. Of course, I wasn't going to buy any of his stuff anyway. But thanks.

I'm not here to endorse nor denounce Powell's rhetoric. One should read the Wiki carefully. Personally, I will no longer buy Clapton's products or see any of his shows because my money does not need to support his Antigua re-hab for his rich cronies. It'll cost you 50.000 quid before they'll talk to you. Useless for "normal" people. On top, I doubt the facility contributes much to Antigua's infrastructure.
