Thanks for the post man, it's a common misperception that you have to be in good shape to do martial arts I weigh around 290 300 or so and have been taking Shotokan Karate for 8 years or so. I attained my green brown and black belt all after a major knee and ankle injury which required two operations. Diving rolls and break falls can be done by anyone who takes the time to learn correctly. Great video. Oss

not ending up in a stable kamae after a dive roll (kaiten ukemi) is a failed roll/ukemi. Your a big guy but you had really nice ukemi, except for loss of balance at the end. Nice slow motion though, i liked it :)

nice roll, only thing i can say is your right foot flopped on the ground very hard, to fix that you have to bend your ankle up on your right foot when dive rolling, what that does is lets you get up right away, and on cement itll hurt less, helped me when i had the "dead fish" leg

im a black belt too, and i cant do it even half as good as u bro! -thumbs up!-
Hi. me and my friends do parkour without true professional guidance. and we were wondering for the dive roll. should we come out of it with our off leg tucked in like that or should we come out of it on both feet?

@CerealMunchkin I would advise you come up on your feet and not the way I demonstrated it because that is a tatami mat I'm doing it on. You dive on concrete. Hope this helps.
