@rancho8204 "This guy" is Mr Joseph William "QOTSA, Eagles, Desert Sessions, Zilch, Wasted Youth, Danzig" Castillo.
And he actually once respectfully turned down an offer for a permanent position from Slayer.
And seriously, to say that this short hair, bearded, beast of a drummer "looks like a bitch version" of this guy
media2.dinmorsa.nu/2011/03/Tom
-Araya1.bmp is just plain goddamn stupid!

I remember a quote from Matt, the drummer from the arctic monkeys from a while ago when he said "I thought I was alright on the drums... Then I saw qotsa and realized I had to hit the drum 100 times harder. Pretty funny

this guy looks like a bitch version of tom araya

Joey saves this interview. Very honest man, this guy is in it for the right reasons.

@offdutyjie dave grohl seems way more crisp in the way he plays. joey seems way more raw and the way he plays is like straight agro energy. I like joeys style better but everyone to their own.
-
yes! watching joey live is freaking amazing! saw him last year with eagles... trippin caveman on the drums!
-
None of the cookie cutter shit, thats right!!! OMG Joey is my fav drummer xD alongside with Dave... but both are different (see high rated comment)!
-
Dave has more power but Joey has better technique, both quality but personally I prefer Joey.
-
@Chazgd, no. overall. Joey can be more funky, but his prowess is limited to basic tempos. after a certain point he loses control and goes way off...
You know.. Both drummers are bad ass. I mean, Dave's a legend... But Joey is a beast! Watch live performances on both drummers and you can tell that they both are very different and very talented.
I guess what I have to say is is that there isn't a rivalry.. Just a lot of people who wanna distinguish which drummer is better.. And really, in truth.. Both drummers are awesome.

i've never heard joey talk so much. what a great interview. the interviewer manages to ask potentially awkward questions but still keep the mood comfortable.
