so nights are not painted with a white background?

I used a toned background here mainly for filming purposes. This helps hold the cameras light and focus adjustments in check. It really depends on your preference of working but I find it helpful to get the darkest darks in first. This really aids in finding the light. Night paintings will glow with high contrast so be carefull not to have too many middle values if you want it to have drama. Hope this is helpfull and thanks for your kind comments.

Thanks so much for showing us how to do this. I want so desperately to be able to paint well, but I lack technique and only learn thru trial and a lot of error.
