I wrote this guitar melody and had the idea for this song awhile ago and never did anything with it. So I did it! Here it is!

Do you ever wonder what lies behind those eyes
People dont always want to show you
What they feel, what they think, what they see
They just show the world what is safe, or do they?
..It may be nothing but then again, who really knows

Restless souls know no other way
Slip back into darkness
Safe and sound within, there stay
Never to be free from their onlyness

Do you ever wonder what lies behind those eyes
Tucked away neatly so no one can see
What is really there, hidden from the world
Are you really that curious, do you really want to know?
..It may be nothing but then again, who really knows

Hide your fears behind those eyes
Sit back in your dream land
Hidden deep behind those eyes
Longing to be free from their loneliness

Do you ever wonder what lies behind those eyes
When a stranger looks right at you and they know you
When a friend acts like a stranger and walks away
It seems so surreal and I think its all in my mind isnt it?
..It may be nothing but then again, who really knows

Of a movie star, the Pope, a school girl, or a drunkard
As if theyre any more important than each other, or themselves
Who are all these people and what does it matter anyway?

Longing to be free from their loneliness

Do you ever wonder what lies behind those eyes?
When the Mona Lisa stares at you and you know why
The rest of the crowd goes on and she still stares at you
Do you think she knows more then she lets on or not?
