I don't think they've given a release date yet. It's still in trial.

When will there be the release of the Lightning 2? I know thie Marines version will be able to take off and land vertically while still managing supersonic speeds, and is quite stealthy

Who knows. the Blues just recently transitioned to the F/A-18C, which will last them well into the future. The Thunderbirds will likely stay with the F-16C for some time, as the F-22 and F-35C will both be too expensive for demonstration aircraft. the f-16 will be retired, but not for a while yet anyway. I doubt either will switch soon.

will the blue angels ever use superhornets? and i heard the thunderbirds might stop using f-16's, and part of the reason being it's being retired? Though, I know they won't use raptors.

Yes. The Superhornet is much larger.

i'm guessing the super hornet was the bigger one, on top, on the beginning flyby with the hornet and corsair?
