Hard Rubber Orchestra's humerous look at Canada's obsession with Winter Sport.
On March 20th, 2010 Hard Rubber Orchestra celebrates their 20th anniversary by re-mounting "The Ice Age" during the 2010 Winter Olympics at The Harry Jerome Rink in North Vancouver featuring CBC's Kevin Sylvester, Emanuel Sandhu and others.
Here are some clips from "The Ice Age" (2000) featuring appearances by Canadian gold medalist Emanual Sandhu, DOA's Joe Keithley, the 18-piece Hard Rubber Orchestra and commissioned compositions by Keith Hamel, Peter Hannan, Tony Wilson and many others. Ian Ross McDonald wrote the text and was the event's MC. John Korsrud artistic/ musical director. Zamboni by Raphael.

---------- Formed in 1990 by John Korsrud, The Hard Rubber Orchestra is an 18-piece ensemble that specializes in performing the music of Canadian composers and the occasional large theatre show. HRO has released two CDs, traveled across Canada several times and to Europe and is the recipient of The 2006 Alcan Arts Award, the largest reward for creation in Canada.
2010 marks their 20th anniversary.
Other ensembles under the umbrella of Hard Rubber are: Goma Dura (latin-jazz), Drum & Light Festival (audience dance, mixed-media), Enter/ Exit (new music, mixed-media)
