You cant mess up the sight alignment on a Mosin-Nagant rifle, because the arsenal places a line mark on the front sights to realign it so that when you take it off and put if back on in the same line marks and you're back to zero or sighted in rifle.

Try useing Breakclean on clean up, the one in the red spray can, works great.
