@G0dher0 it's tough to advise as in general it's all good, depends on your taste, 80's stuff is probably the most metallic, early 90's stuff gets very experimental and trippy, late 90's with the different singer is like a very heavy acid trip...i wasn't into the self titled 2003 album, but was into the last two katorz and infini which had a slight punkier edge mixed with what they usually do which attracts my taste personally.

@G0dher0 Killing Technology is great. Check out that album...it defines who voivod are, Their first album is good if you like thrash metal. Killing Technology is more what Voivod is about.

@G0dher0 Killing Technology is a safe bet, then get Dimension Hatröss or RRROOOAAARRR

@bloodpollution21 oh come on if you want heavy war and pain and rooooarr are they way to go, it's funny they where pretty big in the late eighties early nineties (saw them with two little known opening bands in ottawa faith no more and soundgarden). but little known today.

Voivod's gas masks inspire me to suffocate.

newsted has been quiet lately, he's probably one of the smartest millionaires, i'm sure he used metallica's money wisely...but he sounds better with voivod then he ever did with metallica..you can actually hear the bass.. which is nice i'm a bassist and turning down bass in metal is really a bad thing.
I'm pretty new to Voivod, I have of course heard of piggy tho. Which albums should I get first? I was thinking Killing Technology, War and Pain, and Dimensions Hatross, but I'm not sure.

@G0dher0 Mmmh, I'm not the best one to give you advices on Voivod, but I would say that War and Pain should be good. If you have iTunes (or stay on Youtube) go listen to some parts of their songs, it'll help ^^
