About the song.

Back in 1983, Thomas and I were drinking and playing pretty late one night. I didn't smoke cigarettes then. Always the pot smoker. I used to nag poor Thomas about his smoking.

So.. one night we were jamming and drinking, using a porta-studio loaned to me by Smooth Jazz Guitarist Peter White. We did the basic tracks of guitars, a drum machine, a bass track, and Thomas' vocals.

The brilliance of Thomas' is here playing his complimentary parts in one take. Mind you this was completely spontaneous. We were cueing each other while recording the basic tracks.

About 18 years later, I uploaded the tracks onto my Mac, and using Logic Pro, added our old drummer Jerry Beller on a TD-7 Drum set, and another Bass track using my Wal 5 string to punch it up.

So basically this song is 18 years in the making, and with this video finally hitting the YouTube public 25 years later...

To my dear musical brothers of my youth Thomas Brierley & Jerry Beller.. I miss playing with you guys...

Smoking cigarettes aint better than smokin weet, but I love to smoke cigs. Nothin like that first drag in the morning.
