    where is the red river at im from iowa!?!?! jw be carefull of when the boat is slowing down pull back because the tube will do a nose dive and go under it happend when my friends dad slowed it down. we were going to the beach there by prarie du chien wiscosin...

    wow. i fell in the red river tubing with my aunt and little cousins. i was able to hold on, though, so when i went under i was still holding on to the tube.

    i fell in the river many of times im still liven, ive benn thrown off a jet ski like 50 times i even rolled the jet ski over and went tubing and been rolled off dozens where a life jacket :D

    Cool video by a great organization. If you want to see the Mississippi through a different lens, in 2009 we built a York boat and rowed 2400 miles from top to bottom. We produced a 10 Chapter web-series which is now online. Youtube search 'brettonthewater' or 'Old Man River Project, Chapter 1' to follow the action.     The Mississippi River that was dug out by the Native Americans really should be recognized as one of the greatest accomplishments of any civilization in the history of mankind. When you consider that the whole river was dug out by a primitive culture using bone and flint tools, it is almost incomprehensible. The level of organization, planning, and dedication that it took to dig, by hand, a waterway from Minnesota to Louisiana, is truly astounding.
