LivinCars Renault Megane R26 Sepang Circuit

The R26 has similar on-paper performance to the Honda Civic Type R, but would it be a match for the more track focused Civic in real world performance?

So we took it to Sepang Circuit and had a GPS based data logger from Race Technology. We're not able yet to load real time "dashboard" readout into the video here but we do have laptime and top speed.

Surprisingly it matched the Civic for laptime with a 2min44.87s - although we only have a rough handtimed lap of the Civic which was around mid 2min44s. What more, the R26 had a lower max speed of 183.5 kph, while the Honda was nudging a speedo indicated 190 before hitting it's speed limiter 100 meters before the braking point losing possibly 1-2 secs. But it's still a shock result.
