Christiana Care's Virtual Education and Simulation Training Center doesn't treat human patients—not real ones, anyway. Instead, this advanced facility is equipped with sophisticated robotic mannequins that look and act just like real hospital patients, allowing doctors, residents, nurses and medical support staff to train in an environenment that exactly simulates the hospital experience, without ever putting a real patient in harm's way. On Feb. 2, 2011, Christiana Care hosted a live webcast from the Virtual Education and Simulation Training Center to showcase some of this amazing technology and demonstrate how it translates into better, safer patient care.
