I dont think Benga is one person. In any case Benga like any other music must grow with times. We must be able to read a community through the music of their times. It is only then that we can accept that it was culture. The state of Benga as it is now is a reflection of the Lake side demography. Where do I go out and dance to Benga? Not in day time village dances, family gathering and not in out of school event . May be in some dinghy halls in dilapidated run down urban centres.

DO Misiani is from Shirati in Tanzania. Tanzania Luos speak better Swahili than their Kenyan brethren.
