Part 1 of 2. Join me for this fantastic ride. If you like riding, you'll love this video! We ride the R1200GS Adventure on a great road and share some riding tips along the way. We also share some test notes about the power output of the revised engine for 2010. Don't miss part 2 where we share some braking tips. It's just a great ride - wish I was there now.

  • Dear,

I´m from Brazil and for me is very difficult understand English. Where could I find your tips about "dragging the rear brake whilst accelerating" in a text?

    Thanks,

    Rinaldo

  • @rinaldo795 Sorry, nowhere. It's my riding tip and it's in video. MVR

  • Hi, firstly a question...isn't "dragging the rear brake whilst accelerating on dirt" the same as accelerating more delicately anyway (but less chance of getting the rear brake balance wrong) ? Great comment about looking ahead, I call it "lifting your head up"..and I can tell you're a very experienced rider. Was a pleasure riding with you. Thanks. Russ

  • @RoadcraftNottingham First of all, thank you for your comments. Accelerating more carefully can't match the control and lower chance of loosing control as dragging the rear brake in these conditions. It not only keeps the rear wheel from spinning up, the physics of it all keeps the bike lined up in one direction - you can even feel this when you do it. Try It! (great question)

  • Just please next time advice to avoid or reduce the speed on slippery areas. Especially when using on road tires. (has less grip when there is a sand or small rocks)

    ;)

  • @noflyzonnn I would almost state that as street tires have no traction over sand and rocks.
