Meh, petrol cars are for drama queens. This electric dragster does it's business and then at the end sits back and folds its arms like nothing happened. Whilst petrol acts tough and aggressive but all you get is hot air and lousy torque curves. Electric is coming out (again after 100 years of suppression), so obviously it won't beat petrol in regards to range currently (Duh!). But once we find a way with improving range, electric all the effing way!

@fenderstratguy not true. The car was chosen because it's very light and RWD. Nothing slows a dragster down like weight does. He chose a reletively light weight car that would be easy to convert into a dragster.

@neoartifact Not always. It does on occasion send a few batteries up in a blaze, or blow the armeture off the motors in an event called a "flash over." An electric arc is a thread of plasma. Because plasma is matter with no electrons, electrons travel through it with little resistance, meaning, an arc is conductive. Once an arc starts in the motor, it "flashes over" as the entirety of the motor is converted to plasma.

If only instead of doing Research and development on Gazoline engine and diesel engine for over 100 year and invest all the money and time in batteries we would be able to do 800 miles, at 200m/h, with 0-60 in 3 second in a single charge with a 100 kg battery.

Only if we had do some Research and devlopment with Batteries instead of Gazoline and diesel engine. At the momment we would have a 100 kg battery capable to go up to 800 miles with a tope speed of 260 km and 0-60 miles in 2 second.
