Odd ensemble of bizarre characters with the gritty underside of Blackpool as their backdrop. Camp meets serious cinematography. This is excellently cast with Judy Parfitt, and Roy Barraclough who play rather unusual roles for such classically-trained, serious actors. Frances Barber is sultry and fantastic. Jason Watkins is a background figure who does a compelling job playing a hygienic glove-wearing smarmy dork. Other actors include Daniel Mays, Ian Puleston-Davies, Sarah Smart, Kris Marshall, Kenny Doughty
