Read Introduction First! If you could please give me an idea for chapter 14 of Unexpected Romance. I have no clue where to go with it! Help!! Haha. And also I've decided that if you're a new writer and you would like more people to read your writing, let me know and I'll request you in one of my chapters. :] I'll be doing one person per chapter so if you need help, let me know! I'd be more than happy to do it. :] I know it's rough starting, but once you get started it's so much fun!! Enjoyy!!!
[Flashback]
It was the first day of summer, two and a half years ago. I was sitting on a swing at the park, Kevin and Joe standing in front of me, arms crossed. They wouldn't stop bothering me about who I liked more. They acted like they were five, when ever so clearly they were not. I kept avoiding them, moving to different parts of the playground, finally walking back home. No doubt about it, they both followed me, continuing to argue with each other.
"Shut up! I can't take it anymore. I'm not worth fighting over. You guys are brothers. Now treat each other like it." I yelled, continuing to walk. "Whoa. Addy. Calm down." Joe said, walking up next to me. "Yeah. It's not like we're going to hate each other if you pick the other." Kevin explained, walking on my other side. "I don't know guys. I think it's too big of a risk to take. Can't we all just stay friends?" I questioned, holding both of their hands at once. "Addison. You know how I feel about you. If we have to stay friends forever...I'm going to go insane." Kevin explained, resting his head on my shoulder. "You guys...I don't know what to do, you're both insanely sweet, and cute, and funny. I don't want to spend my summer being pulled between you guys. Please. Can we stay friends...for now anyway?" I asked, looking back and forth between the two of them. Joe was the only one that said anything. Not necessarily relevant to the conversation, but he didn't just stand there like Kevin. "Race you back to our house!" Joe yelled, taking off at full speed. Neither of us went after him. "Too bad I have the key." Kevin said, letting it hang from his finger. "Sneaky. Wanna watch a movie or something?" I asked, noticing I was still holding his hand. "Yeah sure. Can we stop and talk for a minute though?" he asked, stopping underneath a tree. "Of course. What abo-" but before I could finish my sentence, Kevin had pressed his ever so soft lips to mine.
My first instinct was to pull away, but I didn't find myself doing so. Instead I felt my hands press to his neck, pulling him harder to me. It was unlike any other kiss I'd ever experienced. I pulled away seconds later, unable to speak. "Still want to stay friends?" he asked, a small smile on his face. I shook my head vigorously, searching for his hand. "Friends with benefits." I whispered, watching his expression change drastically. "What!?" he yelled, complete confusion in his tone. "I'm kidding. I'd much rather be your girlfriend." I said, standing on my tiptoes, connecting our lips once more. "Oh. I see how it is." Joe said, standing a few feet away. "Joe. Uhh. It's not what it looks like." I explained, trying to come up with something. "Why? Why would you say you only wanted to be friends, but then go ahead and do something like this?" he questioned, walking closer to us. "I'm sorry Joe. This is how it's supposed to be." I said, giving Kevin's hand a squeeze. "Whatever. You just lost your best friend." he said, quickly turning around and walking away.
Ever since that day Kevin and I got closer and learned to cope with the little things that tried to tear us apart. On the other hand, Joe and I grew farther apart. He didn't talk to me anymore, he didn't even look at me when I would go over to his house. It sucked, but I learned to deal with it because I was happy with Kevin. Joe never got another girlfriend. I don't know why. He was getting girl's numbers 24/7. As the months went by I started to forget about Joe. If he didn't want to be in my life, I didn't want to be in it either. About two years into our relationship, Kevin and I did end up sleeping together. The only bad part was-well...Joe walked in on us. It was beyond awkward. We haven't done it at his house since. Sometimes it's nice living alone. :]
