Its all working fine for now, but noticed last night the oil pressure sender was buggered, so has since been taking back and getting a new one again tomorrow. Besides that its all fine :D Cant wait to get it all back together!

  • When installing sensors into the oil filter adapter sandwich, would threadlocker work for sealing the threads, or is teflon tape necessary? Thanks.

  • @chackers I would go with the thread locker, but i dont recommend using those adaptor plates, they tend to leak after 6 or so months :(

  • @mattyvt93 Thank you! Yeah: I'd rather not use the adapter, since it drops the oil filter below the level of the oil pan, and it's a Volvo 850, which already sits pretty low. However, the sandwich allows fairly easy installtion of oil temp and pressure sensors, BUT there's not much room in that area, so I'm not even sure there'll be room for the pressure sensor. I'll let you know!

  • @chackers ;No worries buds!

Ahh thats fair enough, Does the engine have a oil pressure switch/sensor somewhere? If you take it out and see what thread type/size it is, you can buy a brass 'T' piece so you can use the sensors from the gauge and your car can still use the original ECU sensor :) Thats what i done.

  • Thank you very much for making this video. I think I have problems with my oil pump and I want to install an oil gauge to check the pressure but I had no idea of where it would connect to the engine. Thanks.

  • @Danilo111 No worries bud, If you have doubts about your oil pressure, i would suggest you remove the oil pressure switch(next to the oil filter) and fit a mechanical test gauge to it and run the engine to see what the pressure is.
