@Xgames13 I thought I was against a fiat currency. Thanks for letting me know otherwise. How could I possibly get by without people making up positions I supposedly hold and letting me know about them?

1. The "act of buying" or "prices" has never reflected the true will and true costs to any society. If it did we wouldn't have had slavory, outsourcing, child labor, health and safety standards, building codes, food safety, polution laws, etc.
2.The calculation you refer to is not based on "resources". It's based on "money" completely abstracted from the actual societal & environmental impact of these resources.
3. A "Free market" has never existed. It is a myth and a belief, nothing more.

Voluntaryism not coercive? Bullshit this guys hair is a weapon.

@JacobSpinney Capitalism is what we live under though. Its the capitalist class that runs the state. If you think they are mutually exclusive you are mistaken.

@ostralopithicus Bitcoin? come on. I know it's fun to fetishize alternative currencies, but bit coin is a joke

@johnycannuk When he said "property is freedom," he was referring to the product of one's individual labor, which he believed was stolen by the private-property owners--the capitalist class, but I guess you didn't actually read it in context

Jacob, well done. It was the realization of the calculation problem as insurmountable that not only lead me away from soft-socialism (social democratic statist) not only to market economics, but to market anarchism (or voluntaryism by another name).
That and 'Mind of the Market' by Michael Shermer. Bottom up emergent economics is better and more enriching than the top-down planned economics that even the most libertarian statist advocates.

@SocialismOrSlavery He also said "property is freedom", but I guess you stopped reading before that....

Great job Jacob!
Money is our system of accounting - taking away money doesn't remove the profit motive, we're all inherently selfish & we have a drive to consolidate resources for your future selves, families, extended family, nation/patriotic family, and particular god. Sans money we've no system of accounting & hence easier for political elite to take what they want with no means of seeing if they took anything. Our money is corrupted, so we need un-rigged money - gold, silver, bitcoin.
I have no idea why you think we don't live under capitalism defined as The mode of production resting on systemic commodity production.Involves production under the aegis of capital -- both for exchange and for profit, based on the exploitation of labor power following the sale of labour power. How do you define it?

@rickdelagarza I prefer not to use the word capitalism. The system I advocate is one that is based on voluntary human interaction with coercion being minimal or nonexistent and instead replaced with social pressures; a society where each individual has the right to own their own body and the property they have acquired through original appropriation, trade, or charity.

@rickdelagarza Do we live in this society now? Absolutely not. According to the government, we don't own anything, we are merely renting the property that it claims ownership of, including our own bodies. And it regularly manipulates the property it illegitimately owns through coercive means, not voluntary.

I mean it is clear that you have not even considered or even fully thought out the possibilities of the VP movement because you fail to provide solutions for the problems that the VP seeks to achieve. You've attempted to tear assunder the logistics of the movement but never once consider the inequality that the globe suffers from. You keep attempting to explain the need for money in society but never listened to the fact that money is the very cause of all the problems we have in this world lol.

@clonjey Please watch some of my other videos. Not only do I explain in great detail how money is not the problem, but rather the philosophy that it's ok to aggress against others, I also provide a very detailed explanation for how to achieve a better world in my state is not great video.

This video is very intelligent arguement against Zeitgeist & the VP movement, but unfortunately it's still lacking so much to disprove Zeitgeist & the VP. For example, you mentioning that it would be a "labourious task" to constantly take surveys of the earth's resources... If you actually paid attention to the documentaries you would know this IS being done for other things & CAN be done only once then using a calculating computer from then on, along with monitering the resources distributed
clonjey 4 months ago
@clonjey Without money, the only possible way to do this is to constantly survey every individual in society about how they want resources allocated. And even then, it would have to assume that every individual in society would have a master understanding of all fields of resource gathering and product production.
